Sleeping Comfortably Again!

When I was first Dx with breast cancer, I knew that I was going to have a double mastectomy, but the thought of having to sleep upright during recovery was stressing me out... Sleep Again Pillow System to the rescue! I started using the pillow system on the second night of recovery, and it was a total game changer! With the correct arrangement, I was even able to sleep on my side (which I was told would be very uncomfortable). I'm a tummy sleeper, so having the ability to be on my side was HUGE! I am now 2.5 months post-op and even though I don't need to, I still use the Sleep Again Pillow System (because who doesn't want to sleep on a cloud?!?!) . I am having my exchange surgery at the end of October, and I love the fact that I don't have to worry about my sleeping comfort. This pillow system is 100% a game changer! I absolutely love it!

Best purchase!

Buying this pillow system was the absolute best decision I could’ve made. From the night I came home from the hospital. I have slept comfortably all night long. I honestly think I’m sleeping more comfortably than before I had my surgery. Do not hesitate. This pillow system is worth every penny!
PS. The only regret I have is not buying the straps. Not totally necessary, but would just help getting in and out. So add the straps to your order!

Like the name of this product I was able to sleep again! Before getting this system

Like the name of this product I was able to sleep again! Before getting this system, I was trying a group of pillows, a wedge at the top and wedge under my knees. Everything moved a bit or I just ended up with lower back pain by early morning. I was sleeping, but not restfully. The first night with the Sleep Again system was a godsend! After my surgeon said I could go back to side sleeping, I tried, but it hurt too much. So I put this system back on the bed and cannot believe how well and deeply I sleep. I NEVER thought I'd be able to sleep on my back. Quality sleep is so important for post-surgery healing and wellness. This product gave that back to me!

I have been testing it out prior to my surgery.

I was testing it out prior to my surgery and was able to actually sleep on my back! I would always roll to my side, even in my sleep. I'm looking forward to using it when I get back home. I just had my surgery today.

Worth every penny

I used this after my prophylactic double mastectomy, and I had ZERO problems with sleep. The first several days it was a bit of an effort to get in/out of, but you get better at it. If it’s in your budget, do it! I have even told my plastics team to recommend it to all their breast patients.

Why is it better to sleep on my back after surgery?

Doctors recommend sleeping on your back post-mastectomy - and many other surgeries! - to manage surgical drains and dressings. Sleeping on your back helps you to heal optimally and protects incisions from excess pressure.

How can I stay on my back if I'm naturally a side sleeper?

Providing support on both sides of your body is the key to staying on your back while sleeping. The two contoured side pillows in the Sleep Again Pillow System are designed to do just that - provide support to keep you snugly in place.

Why does my upper body have to stay elevated after surgery?

Doctors recommend that you sleep with your upper body elevated after surgery to reduce swelling and bruising. It also improves circulation and reduces fluid build up. In addition, elevating your upper body makes getting out of bed easier.

Why does a wedge under my knees help after surgery?

Elevating your legs after surgery helps prevent swelling. A wedge pillow under your knees can also help with proper alignment in your back.

What arm limitations are recommended after a double mastectomy?

Following a double mastectomy, doctors recommend that you do not raise your arms above your shoulders. This is to protect incisions and sutures as well as keep drains in place.
